Intro
On this week’s episode, Erica updates her story from episode 2. Pablo Escobar’s cocaine hippos are back in the news! Will they or won’t they legally become HUMANS??? That’s right! While all of that’s being decided, Mookie tells of the plight of New Zealand’s very own wizard! Did you know that New Zealand has a WIZARD? So many exclamation marks!!!
Cocaine Hippo, People!
Those crazy cocaine hippos left behind when Pablo Escobar’s drug dynasty collapsed are still causing trouble. This time, it’s a legal debate as to whether or not they can be declared human. The issue is that they are procreating quickly enough that the ecosystem can’t really support them. Animal rights groups want to make sure they aren’t killed and support sterilization as a way to protect the ecosystem and the hippos. The hippos as animals can’t compel someone to provide supporting documentation in a court case. Problem solved! They’re humans!
The Wizardly World of New Zealand!
Did you know that New Zealand has an official wizard??? Ian Brackenbury Channell has been the official wizard of Christchurch in New Zealand for decades. But now he’s back on the job market. Can he cast a spell to get his job back?? So far, not so much…
